Welcome to Haiyvee, a social media platform designed to help users connect with others nearby. We are committed to protecting your privacy and safeguarding your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect the personal information you share with us when using our Platform (mobile application, website and related services). By using our Platform, you agree to the practices described here.

To provide a seamless experience and improve our Platform, we collect information that helps deliver personalized content, enhance interactions and improve overall functionality.

Personal Identification Information

• Full Name – primary account identifier; may be visible on your profile.
• Username – your public identity for posts, messages and interactions.
• Email Address – used for verification, notices and (if opted-in) marketing.
• Phone Number (optional) – for 2FA and account recovery.
• Date of Birth – for age compliance and age-appropriate experiences.
• Gender (optional) – improves personalization; not public unless you choose.
• Profile Picture (optional) – helps others recognize you.

Location Information

• GPS Coordinates – to power “nearby” features and local relevance.
• IP Address – approximate location and regional customization.

You can disable location at any time in your device settings; some features may not work without it.

Usage Data

• Device Information – device type, OS version, browser.
• App Interactions – likes, shares, comments, engagement signals.
• Log Data – IP, access times, diagnostics for reliability and security.
• Cookies & Tracking – preferences, analytics, personalization.

User-Generated Content

• Messages – private/public messages to enable communication.
• Posts – text, images, videos you publish.
• Profile Updates – bio, name, location and other profile changes.

We request certain device permissions to deliver core features and a better experience. All permissions are optional and can be modified in your device settings (some features may be limited if disabled).

• Location Access – enable nearby connections and local suggestions.
• Camera & Photos – take/upload media for posts or your profile.
• Contacts – discover people you may know (optional).
• Push Notifications – receive updates, messages and alerts.
• Storage – upload files and cache content for performance.
• Microphone – voice messages or live audio features.
• Background Activity – update content / send notifications in background.
• SMS – OTP for verification and account recovery (optional).

Haiyvee is intended for individuals aged 16+. Users under 16 may not use the Platform. We may verify age during registration and remove accounts that do not meet requirements. Users aged 16–18 may require parental/guardian consent for certain features. Adults (18+) may use all features, subject to our Terms.

• Provide & Maintain Services – account creation, messaging, notifications, content sharing and feature access.
• Personalize Experience – demographic and behavioral signals to tailor content and connections.
• Communicate with You – account updates, newsletters, and (optional) marketing.
• Display Advertisements – including Google AdSense; ads may be personalized.
• Ensure Security – monitor for suspicious activity and authenticate users.
• Improve the Platform – analyze usage, run surveys, iterate on features.
• Legal Compliance – respond to lawful requests, enforce terms.
• Fraud Prevention – detect and prevent unauthorized behavior.
• Business Operations – research (anonymized), mergers/acquisitions if applicable.

We do not sell your personal information.

• Service Providers – cloud, analytics, payments, email/support (under contract/confidentiality).
• Advertising Partners – e.g., Google AdSense for personalized ads (see Ads section).
• Legal Compliance – subpoenas, court orders, lawful requests.
• Business Transfers – in a merger or acquisition, subject to this policy.
• International Transfers – with safeguards, encryption, and lawful mechanisms.

We use cookies, pixels and similar tech for analytics and personalization (including Google services). On first visit, you can accept, reject or customize preferences and update them later. Disabling cookies may limit some features.

• Access Control – least-privilege access for staff/partners.
• Firewalls & IDS – network protections and monitoring.
• Fraud Prevention – active monitoring for abuse.
• Security Audits – regular reviews and vulnerability assessments.

Use strong, unique passwords and enable 2FA for added protection.

• Access & Update – view and edit your profile.
• Correction – fix inaccurate information.
• Deletion – delete your account (we’ll remove data unless law requires retention).
• Opt-Out of Marketing – unsubscribe anytime.
• Location Controls – disable location in device settings.
• Restrict Processing & Portability – request limits or machine-readable copies.

• Active Accounts – retain data to provide services.
• Inactive Accounts – may be removed after 12 months of inactivity (with notice).
• Usage Data – typically up to 12 months unless legally required longer.
• Backups – deleted data may persist up to 90 days in backups.
• Account Deactivation – 30-day window to reactivate before permanent deletion.

We share limited data with trusted providers to deliver services: Msg91 (communications like SMS/email/push) and Google Ads (ad delivery/measurement). Partners must follow privacy laws (GDPR/CCPA, etc.) and use data only as instructed. You can opt out of marketing or ad personalization in your settings (see the respective providers’ privacy policies).

The Platform is for users 16+. We don’t knowingly collect data from children under 16. If we learn data was provided by a user under 16, we will delete it. Parents/guardians may contact us if they believe a child has provided information.

We may update this policy to reflect operational, legal or regulatory changes. We’ll post updates here and adjust the effective date; for material changes, we may send a notice in-app or via email. Please review periodically.

We use Google AdSense to display ads. Ads may be personalized using cookies and your activity. You can manage ad preferences in your Google account. See Google’s Privacy Policy and AdSense notices for details.
